United Airlines Flight UA613 Drops Repeatedly Before Emergency Landing in Lagos

A United Airlines Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner carrying 245 passengers and 11 crew members made an emergency return landing in Lagos following a mid-air technical issue. The flight, originally bound for Washington Dulles International Airport, experienced severe cabin pressure loss, leading to injuries among passengers and crew.

One passenger described the terrifying experience: “We had already been served our meals when the plane lost pressure and dropped. I hit my head on the ceiling because of the impact. The sharp descent happened three times, causing some people to sustain injuries.”
According to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), four passengers and two crew members sustained serious injuries during the incident. Additionally, 27 passengers and five crew members reported minor injuries.
