Brussels, January 8, 2025 – A TUI fly Belgium Boeing 737-700, registered as OO-JAR, experienced a nose landing gear collapse while parked at Brussels Airport. The incident occurred around noon, following the aircraft’s arrival from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP), Spain, operating as flight TB1012.

The nose landing gear of the 16-year-old aircraft, powered by CFM 56-7B engines, unexpectedly retracted while the plane was stationary at the gate. Fortunately, no passengers were onboard at the time, and there were no injuries reported. The aircraft, configured with 148 all-economy seats, tilted forward, causing the nose to touch the ground.
This incident follows a recent event involving a TUI flight attendant who fell from a Boeing 737 at East Midlands Airport in England on December 16, 2024. The flight attendant mistakenly opened a door, believing the airstairs were still in place, resulting in a fall and subsequent hospitalization/
Similar incidents have occurred in the aviation industry, often due to human error or mechanical failures. For instance, a Qatar Airways Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner suffered damage when its right main landing gear became entrapped at Hamad International Airport, causing the right engine to contact the ground.
